What we have to do when we have Negative thoughts ?

Question asked by: Karthikhaa On 10 November, 2016

Do we know there is a Positive aspect even in Negative Thoughts ? For example, we have to walk along in a lonely road, outside the city. It is night and there is no proper light. More over there are dark bushes along the way. The appearance of the place threatens us. We have the negative thoughts repeatedly that there may be snakes on the way. Actually the negative thought helps us. So we take a torch ? and walk carefully. On the way we even meet two snakes. If we don't have torch, we might have tread upon the snakes itself. The negative thoughts help in this respect. This is the positive aspect of a negative thought. After seeing the snakes, we return to our house. There is no light ? when have reached. There is complete darkness. We have to open the door in the darkness and then only we have to put on the light. On seeing the darkness, we have the negative thoughts that there may be snakes in the house itself. But we need not worry about it, because there is no chance for snakes with in our house. So neglecting the thought, we enter into the darkness and put on the light of our house. In the first instance, we make use of the negative thoughts. In second instance, it's not useful. How shall we free from the negative thoughts repeatedly occur, even though it is not necessary ? For example, one of our friends met with a financial loss his business. We helped him by giving an amount of 5 lakhs. By our help he is alright now. One fine morning he comes to our house to express his gratitude. At the time of his arrival,we are typing an urgent email in our laptop. Our friend sits in front of us and begins to praise us for the help that we rendered to him. We at once stop the typing and listen him happily. But he does not stop praising us. Now what will we do in this situation? We will not drive him away from the house. But we will simply return to the typing, not giving much attention to his words. In this way we have to disregard the unnecessary negative thoughts. Have you ever watched the behaviour of babies. Sometimes a baby may fall down upon the ground. If we watch the baby it would begin to cry. If it understands that no one is watching, then it would not cry. One more example. You and your friends are sitting in a private room and chatting. You all feel relaxed and there is no urgency for any one of you to go away from the room. But some one else mistakenly closes the door outside. Now what will you do? You all will become serious and every one of you will try to get away from the room. When you are free, you are relaxed. But when you are controlled, you become serious and powerful. In this way if you give total freedom to your negative thoughts, they'll become powerless. But instead if you try to control the negative thoughts, they'll become powerful.

Dear Bagavath Ji, 1. If Atma and Brahmam are the same why does an alive human being commit crimes? Why does he not have the awareness to avoid crimes ? 2. BTW does crime meaning doing a wrong thing for selfish activity ? 3. When we kill a mosquito is it a crime ? If we dont kill it, it creates diseases. So what is your advise ?

Question asked by: T. RAGHAVAN On 24 November, 2013

1. Atma and Brahman are same . Atma or Brahman has no motive . It is the basic energy . It is the basic consciousness . It does not do anything . It supplies energy to our body and mind . Our mind and body alone are the cause for our action .Our mind is said Austral or subtle body . That alone is responsible for our actions. 2. If we expel Atma we have to rely only upon our mind .That is intellect . Do the good by using our intellect. If our intellect says something is a crime we have to avoid it. It is simple in the words of Jesus "Don't do anything to others which you don't like if it is done to you by others ". 3. We need not take killing mosquito a crime .

Yesterday, one gentle man from Mayiladuthurai consulted me over phone for his instant problem. He told me, he was waiting for one hour for a bus, he has to attend a function at 9 pm. Since the non availability of the bus, he was unable to attend the function in time. so he got psychological tension. He asked me how to manage the tension, is it proper to have this tension? I replied him, you may expect the bus in time, and if the bus has not come in time, it is natural for any body to get tense, so there is no problem of expecting the bus in time, but we should not expect our psychological structure that it should not have/get tension. In this way, we may face any situation according to our Karma, and it may result in psychological reactions. We may take any steps to rectify the situation. but we should not indulge in ourselves to rectify the reactions. We have no authority to solve our psychological reactions. So being free from the responsibility of solving the psychological reactions, is the freedom from the karma. it is not the freedom from our situation. we may have, we may posses any belongings then only we can face the physical world properly. But we should not face our psychological reactions, so as to free from psychological reactions. We should not try anything for our psychological freedom.

How can i understand that i got enlightenment. Can you explain me its feelings and how i will be differ with other persons ?

Question asked by: On 1 December, 2010

If you are able to take your psychological structure whole heartedly, it is the end of everything. Instead, if you try to do something for your psychological perfection then you are still in the process of search. Enlightenment means an understanding that you can’t do anything for your psychological change of perfection. Enlightenment means you needn’t have any responsibility to correct yourself psychologically. If you are able to disown your responsibility, your mind becomes a liberated mind. Your psyche becomes a liberated one. Then, no thought will encircle itself, as a feeling of sorrow or suffering. Our thought will flow like a river without having any eddy. The scientists say that the earth gets the force of gravitation, only because of it’s rotation by itself. Similarly if our thought encircles around a feeling, the feeling gathers weight. If our thoughts enter the regular flow of the mind, then we won’t feel the heaviness of our feelings. Thereby you can identify that you have got enlightened and liberated.

As you have said in the book Salvation without Meditation my mind is also thinking on how to be idle, how can the I could see that it doesnt exist ? the very breathing pre-supposes and re-iterates the I right. Please help me clarify. As you said, the dreamer cannot be seen in the dream, and so how does that understanding happens that we are a dream character, is it that the very idea gives the salvation ? Is what we call enlightenment is merely a change in attitude ?

Question asked by: Saravanan On 10 November, 2010

The question is quite reasonable and worth asking. The I consciousness is always in existence. The I consciousness is absent, only in our dreamless sleep. We need not try to prove or establish the existence of I consciousness. It is there. It is an open fact. But whenever we have I conscious, we will never feel the unqualified I consciousness. We always feel that we are somebody or something. This is known as our ordinary I consciousness. It is only the qualified I consciousness. This is also a fact. We can usually visualize it. But there is no necessity for us to deal with these facts. We need not try to attain the unqualified I consciousness. If we try, it is again the effort of the qualified I consciousness. It is not the effort of the unqualified I consciousness to establish itself to be the unqualified I consciousness. Then is there any duty for our I consciousness to do? If it were the duty to attain the unqualified I consciousness, then there is some meaning for our effort. But we have found out that our ordinary I Consciousness cannot do it. So our duty is meaningless, if it were the duty to attain a psychological perfection. What is open for us to take sincere effort for our worldly duty? Enlightenment is nothing but finding out this fact that we need not do anything for our psychological perfection. So we become effortless to correct ourselves. It is righty said, ‘enlightenment is merely a change in attitude’. But we have not deliberately made this change. It happens on its own, when we understand that we need not do anything towards our psychological perfection, But to our surprise, our psychological structure itself under goes a tremendous change towards its perfection, when we have not given importance to its change.
